Contest
Article
1: Organisers
This
contest is organised by:
ACCOMPLIR, a non-profit organisation according
to the French 1901 law, located 49 rue Saint-Denis
75001 Paris, France
and
REPERES, SAS (Société Anonyme
Simplifiée - Flexible Limited Liability
Company) with a capital of € 50,000, located
9 rue Rougemont 75009 Paris, France
Article 2: Purpose of the contest
Accomplir
and REPERES are organising a contest to select
the best ideas for the re-designing of the Halles
garden (Jardin des Halles) located in Paris, using
the Second Life platform. The objective is to
generate and illustrate creative ideas for the
re-designing of the garden. The projects for the
entire garden must be the object of a model produced
in Second Life to the scale of 1/10th (or 4,500
m²).
Article 3: Conditions for Participation
The
competition is free and without any obligation
to buy any product or service from Accomplir or
REPERES.
Participants
must be residents of Second Life.
The
organisers reserve the right to change conditions
for participation at any time after notification
on their websites.
Article 4: Planning
The
competition will be held from April the 5th to
June the 1st of 2007.
Project
schedule:
- 5 April 2007: launching of the contest on Second
Life;
- 1st June 2007: submission of projects;
- 3 June 2007: choice of 5 finalist projects for
the entire garden and of the complementary winning
projects;
- 4-19 June 2007: installation of the models (scale:
1/10th) (or 4,500 m²) of the 5 finalist projects
for the entire garden on the Second Life island
owned by REPERES;
- 20-25 June 2007: vote by the REPÈRES
panellists from among the 5 finalist projects
for the entire garden;
- 28 June 2007: announcement of the contest results
Article 5: Deadline for Participation
Participants
must send their design in at the latest by 1st
June 2007 to the following address:
Article 6: Competition Categories
Participants
may choose to compete in one or more of the following
categories, as detailed in the project specifications
made available on organisers websites.
- entire garden
- playground
- fountain
- sculpture
- entrance gate to the forum
- toilet building
Article 7: Selection of the Finalists and the
Winners
A
jury of 12 people composed of members appointed
by the ACCOMPLIR association including 1 person
from REPERES and 1 person from the Pourquoitucours
agency will choose a maximum of 5 finalists for
the entire garden category and a winner for each
of the other categories as listed above according
to the following criteria:
- compliance with specifications,
- creativity, originality.
A
contribution of L$ 25,000 (Linden Dollars) will
be paid to the five finalists of the entire garden
category for the installation of their project
(scale: 1/10th) (or 4,500 m²) on the Repères
Second Life island.
The
jury will then select the winner for the entire
garden category according to the following criteria:
- compliance with specifications,
- creativity, originality,
- public support (votes of Repères Second
Life panellists)
Article 8: Prizes
The
result of the competition will be announced on
28 June 2007 during an event staged by the competition
organisers in partnership with the Pourquoitucours
agency.
The
venue for this event will be announced on organisers
websites.
The
organisers reserve the right to change all or
part of the description of the prize(s), if circumstances
should require them to do so.
The
organisers will not be held liable for the use,
or even trading, of the prizes by the winners.
The
prizes awarded may not be the object, on the part
of the winners, of any claims of any kind, or
be replaced by money (other than L$), or be replaced
or exchanged for any reason whatsoever.
Detail
of the prizes
The
grand prize of L$ 275,000 will be awarded to one
of the 5 finalists of the entire garden category.
A
prize for each other category (except for the
entire garden) and which varies according to the
category will be awarded as follows:
-playground: L$ 40,000
-fountain: L$ 15,000
-sculpture: L$ 15,000
-gate: L$ 15,000
-toilet building: L$ 15,000
Article 9: Use of the Designs by the Organisers
Every
winner acknowledges and accepts that the organizers
of the contest, REPERES and ACCOMPLIR, shall be
entitled to use, reproduce, modify, represent
all or parts of the design works submitted within
this contest on any type of media and for any
purpose, and grants a licence to that effect to
REPERES and ACCOMPLIR on any copyrights, droits
d'auteur or similar intellectual property rights
relating thereto, free of any charge, fee, indemnity
or benefit, for the duration of the legal protection
of said intellectual property rights and in the
entire world.
Article 10: Acceptance of the Rules
Any
participant in the contest agrees to comply with
the rules herein contained.
The
organisers reserve the right to change the rules
at any time after notification on their website.
Article 11: Liabilities of the Organisers
The
organisers shall not be held liable if this contest
should be modified, shortened or cancelled.
The
organisers reserve the right, in all cases, to
prolong the participation period.
The
organisers will not be held liable for any damages
caused by the use of or malfunction of Second
life or Internet services in general.
Article 12: Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The
law applicable to any participation in the contest
shall be French law.
Any litigation will have to be presented to the
Tribunal de Grand Instance de Paris which shall
have exclusive jurisdiction.
